Biography:
Dr. Paul Read has lived in Virginia for many years and has achieved much in the Charlottesville community. He is a triple Wahoo with undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees from the University of Virginia in medicine and philosophy. Dr. Read’s mother is a Resident at Martha Jefferson House, and he was inspired to join the Board by her presence at the facility.
Background and Information:
Dr. Read is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia. With many years of experience in medicine, he brings to MJH an informed medical perspective to the facility in terms of Resident wellness and quality of service. Dr. Read is also an accomplished grant writer and has successfully obtained funding of $2.5 million in the past. He has received awards in clinical excellence and master education, and has served as tenured Professor, Vice Chairman, Quality Officer, and Medical Director in UVA’s department of Radiation Oncology.
Position and Term:
Dr. Read has been on the Board since August of 2020; his current term will end in 2023.
